Silverado Trails Winery
This project was a design competition for an exclusive custom crush facility, within the footprint of an existing facility. The owner wanted to create a ‘wine club’ with multiple owners creating separate wines, sharing resources and facilities.

This design response saved the existing building converting it into the tank cellar with an innovative new roof. The new facility was for barrel storage, offices and a tasting room. The distinctive butterfly roof was designed for rainwater harvesting. The facility is all connected by a translucent canopy with integrated PV modules, as well as a rammed earth wall.

The entire site was considered as a destination and the connection and restoration of the Napa River was an integral part of the design.
